2005 Freeze Fly
Oh Foggy Day!

Who you gonna call?
Fogbusters!

The amount of hot air generated by
the Fogbusters was not sufficient, to the great disbelief of the
assembled pilots, to dissipate the fog.
The pilots brief shows the
participation level on a day that was not quite optimal for
flying. At least it was not really cold. Nick Schriefer,
our Contest Director explains the rules, adapting the traditional
approach to suit the weather and increase safety.

There's Chuck Snyder replacing the
prop on his plane after the contest. Why, you ask.
Well.....

Some klutz set his airplane on the
runway slightly nose down. The short clearance caused a strike
on the runway which shattered the prop and spinner.

Here he is explaining the problem to
Michael Bluestein. Drats! Now its a sure thing for a
broken prop nomination. It was certainly the first casualty of
the new year.

The winners. Due to a great
landing, within the radius of the runway center circle, Mark Feist
took first place. Michael Bluestein and Jeff Obermeyer were
close behind.

This is a flightline shot just prior
to the race. It gives a great perspective on the foggy
conditions at the field.
